Docs / How to
Update ThatPrompt
Last updated 9 October 2026
When a new version is out, ThatPrompt shows Update available at the top of the window. Choose Update now, download the new version, and install it over the old one. Your prompts, settings and model are kept.
How you find out
ThatPrompt checks for a new version when it starts, every 30 minutes, and when you open it. When there is one, a bar at the top of the window says Update available with the version number. It stays until you update.
To check yourself, open Settings and choose Check for Updates under About.
To see what changed, read the changelog.

When an update is required
Now and then a version is too old to keep working, for example after a change on the server it talks to. ThatPrompt then shows A new version is required and nothing else works until you update. See Update required and you can't get past it.
