Install on Windows
Last updated 9 October 2026
Download the Windows version from thatprompt.ai/download, extract the .zip to a folder you'll keep, and run ThatPrompt.exe. There's no installer. You need Windows 10 or later.
Install
- Go to the download page and choose Download for Windows.
- Extract the
.zipto a folder you won't move, for example aThatPromptfolder in your user folder. Don't run it from inside the zip. - Open the folder and run
ThatPrompt.exe. - Windows may show Windows protected your PC. Choose More info, then Run anyway. You'll see this because the Windows build isn't code-signed yet. See macOS or Windows won't open ThatPrompt.
Setup starts straight away. See First run for what it asks.
Pick the folder before you turn on Launch on startup. Windows starts ThatPrompt from the folder it was in when you turned that on, so moving the folder afterwards stops it starting with Windows.
Where ThatPrompt lives once it's running
ThatPrompt has no taskbar button. It sits in the system tray, by the clock, and appears when you press its shortcut. If you can't see the icon, it may be in the hidden icons behind the ^ arrow.
Uninstall
- Right-click the ThatPrompt icon in the system tray and choose Quit. If you turned on Launch on startup, turn it off in Settings first.
- Delete the folder you extracted ThatPrompt into.
- To remove your prompts and the downloaded model as well, delete ThatPrompt's folder in
%APPDATA%. Export your library first if you might want your prompts back.
