Edit and delete prompts
Last updated 9 October 2026
Highlight the prompt in ThatPrompt and press Cmd+E to edit it, or Cmd+Backspace to delete it. On Windows, use Ctrl instead of Cmd. Both also work from a prompt's preview.
Edit a prompt
- Open ThatPrompt and highlight the prompt with the arrow keys, or search for it.
- Press Cmd+E (Ctrl+E on Windows), or choose Edit in its preview.
- Change the title, the text or the folder. Enhance works here too.
- Choose Save Changes, or press Cmd+Enter (Ctrl+Enter on Windows).
Editing keeps the prompt's usage history, so it stays where it was in the ranking. Clear the title and ThatPrompt uses the first line of the text instead.
Delete a prompt
- Highlight the prompt.
- Press Cmd+Backspace (Ctrl+Backspace on Windows), or choose Delete in its preview.
- Check the title in Delete Prompt? and press Enter to delete, or Esc to keep it.
This can't be undone. There's no bin. If you might want it later, export your library first.
