Models and system requirements
Last updated 9 October 2026
ThatPrompt runs Enhance and title suggestions on a language model that lives on your computer. You download one during setup. Setup checks how much memory your computer has and recommends the most capable model it can run.
System requirements
| Operating system | macOS 14 or later, Windows 10 or later |
| Memory | 2 GB of RAM for the smallest model, 8 GB for the most capable one |
| Disk | 610 MB to 3.1 GB for the language model, depending on which one is chosen, plus the app itself |
| Network | Required once during setup to download the model. Enhancement works offline afterwards. |
Memory here means the RAM installed in your computer, not what's free right now. A model that needs more than you have is shown but can't be picked.
The models
| Model | Quality | Download size | Needs at least |
|---|---|---|---|
| Gemma 4 E2B (Q4_0 QAT) | Best | 3.1 GB | 8 GB of RAM |
| Gemma 3 1B (Q4_K_M) | Balanced | 769 MB | 4 GB of RAM |
| Qwen3 0.6B (Q8_0) | Basic | 610 MB | 2 GB of RAM |
- Gemma 4 E2B (Q4_0 QAT): Best quality. Recommended. Quantisation-aware training keeps 4-bit output close to the full model.
- Gemma 3 1B (Q4_K_M): Balanced size and quality. A lighter alternative if disk or memory is tight.
- Qwen3 0.6B (Q8_0): Smallest and fastest. Good baseline quality on simple prompts.
Change your model later
You can switch to a different model at any time in Settings, under Model. ThatPrompt downloads the new one, switches over once it's ready, and then removes the old one to free the disk space.
