Settings
Last updated 9 October 2026
Open Settings from the ThatPrompt icon in your menu bar or system tray, or with the gear at the bottom of the command palette. Press Esc to close it. Changes take effect straight away.
Account
Your email, your Plan, and when you bought ThatPrompt. Check licence asks the server for your licence again, and Sign Out signs you out. See Your account and licence.
Appearance
Theme: Use System (the default), Light, Dark, Light Minimal or Dark Minimal. Use System follows your computer's light or dark mode.
General
Launch on startup: start ThatPrompt when you log in. Off by default. On Windows, turn it on after you've put ThatPrompt in the folder you'll keep it in.
Features
Show while selecting text: a small button appears next to text you select in other apps, to enhance it without a shortcut. On by default. On a Mac it needs Accessibility permission. If that's missing, you'll see Accessibility permission needed and Open System Settings. See macOS keeps asking for Accessibility permission.
You can also switch this from the tray menu.
Shortcuts
The three shortcuts that work from any app: Open Command Palette, Save New Prompt and Enhance Text. Click one and press new keys. Restore defaults puts them back. See Change the keyboard shortcuts.
Model
The models you can use, with their size and memory needs. The one in use is marked Active. Use this model switches. See Change the model.
Data
Import and Export your library as a Markdown file. See Back up and restore your prompts.
Privacy
Share anonymised usage data: off by default. See Turn usage analytics on or off.
About
Your Version, and Check for Updates. See Update ThatPrompt.
While ThatPrompt is locked
If your account has no active licence, Settings hides Features, Shortcuts, Model and Import. Export stays, so your prompts are never stuck. Everything comes back once your licence is active.
